What is a zine?
A zine (an abbreviation of the word fanzine, or magazine; pronounced /ˈzi¢°n/ zeen) is most commonly a small circulation publication of original or appropriated texts and images. More broadly, the term encompasses any self-published work of minority interest usually reproduced via photocopier on a variety of colored paper stock.
The F-Bomb Zine is a collaborative zine featuring submissions from many, many different contributors from all over the United States and occasionally from different countries. We always have an open call for submissions and so we manage to really create, write, and draw something amazing each time we publish an issue. Our zine is about many things, as we choose a new theme for the contributors to touch on each issue. We take pride in our writing and art and I think our efforts really show once you sit down and give us a read. We have received scads of positive feedback and we appreciate all of it.
We have been around since January 2009 and have printed and distributed thousands of copies of our zine since then. The F-Bomb has currently reached 23 of the 50 states to date, and also Canada and the UK!
